TPE vs Silicone Doll Weight: Which Is Heavier?
MMI DOLL / MATERIAL & WEIGHT
The finished build—not the material label—determines the result.
Silicone and TPE affect the mass of a doll’s exterior, but a finished body also contains a core, skeleton, joints, filling, a head and sometimes powered components. A foam-core silicone doll can weigh less than a TPE doll of similar height, while a compact TPE model may weigh less than a larger silicone design.
For a purchase or handling decision, compare the final net weight of the exact configurations, using the same rule for the head and optional features.

01 / DIRECT ANSWER
Are Silicone Sex Dolls Heavier Than TPE Dolls?
Silicone sex dolls are not always heavier than TPE dolls. Material can influence weight, but it cannot independently predict the finished product.
A meaningful handling comparison uses the final configured net weight, body dimensions, head-inclusion rule and selected options.
| What you want to know | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Which doll is easier to move? | Final configured net weight, body shape and weight distribution |
| Whether material caused the difference | Closely matched bodies with the same core, skeleton, head rule and options |
| Whether a lightweight version helps | Standard and lightweight weights for the same body |
| Whether a listing number is usable | Whether it includes the head, filling, electronics and selected options |
| How much the parcel will weigh | Packed scale weight and carton dimensions—not body material |

02 / EVIDENCE LEVELS
Why Industry Answers Conflict
Search results commonly provide one of two answers: TPE is lighter because silicone is denser, or silicone dolls are lighter because they use foam cores. Each statement may describe a particular comparison. Neither works as a universal rule.
Material-level claims
These discuss the raw material, often by describing one formulation as denser than another. That may help explain what would happen if equal volumes were used in otherwise identical products. It does not show how much of each material is present in a finished doll.
Commercial TPE and silicone are families of formulations rather than single standardized recipes. A generic density taken from an unrelated data sheet should not be used to calculate a doll’s weight when the exact formulation and material volume are unknown.
Finished-product claims
These describe a complete doll. The figure includes the body shape, outer material, internal core, skeleton, filling and options. It is the relevant number for handling, but it cannot isolate the effect of material unless the other variables are controlled.
Retail-catalog statistics
These summarize products sold by one retailer. They show what a buyer may encounter in that catalog, but the range may contain different brands, body sizes, cores and options.
Use each evidence level for the question it can answer. A material tendency, a complete product specification and a catalog median are not interchangeable measurements.
03 / COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION
What Determines the Weight of a Finished Doll?
A practical model is: outer material + internal core + skeleton + soft-fill areas + head + selected functional modules.
Body volume matters more than height alone
Two dolls listed at 160cm can have different bust, waist, hip, thigh and limb measurements. A fuller body normally contains more exterior material and may require a different core or skeleton. Compare the complete measurements rather than treating height as a controlled variable.
The skeleton is not determined by the skin material
Standing feet, upgraded joints, articulated waists and other mechanisms may require different components. Two products can use different skeletons even when both are silicone or both are TPE.
Soft-fill options need their own confirmation
Irontech identifies gel-filled parts among the features that increase weight in its products. The affected area and construction differ by model, so there is no reliable universal allowance for gel breasts or a soft butt. (Irontech weight explanation)
Heads and electronic modules can move weight in both directions
Real Lady says its ROS MAX head is approximately 0.5kg lighter than the preceding ROS head, a reduction the brand describes as about 20%. The same page states that its oral, hip and waist robotic-motion option adds 6kg. Both figures apply only to the specified Real Lady configurations. (Real Lady ROS MAX)
04 / BRAND CASE
Why a Foam-Core Silicone Doll Can Be Lighter Than a TPE Doll
“Silicone body” describes the exterior material. It does not establish that the entire volume is solid silicone.
Irontech explains that the silicone dolls discussed in its weight guide use an outer silicone layer over a weight-reducing foam core. The company says its TPE dolls do not use that same foam construction and are therefore usually heavier within its product system. It also describes adjustments to the foam core as part of its silicone weight-reduction work. (Irontech, “Understanding Sex Doll Weight”)
This is evidence about Irontech’s stated construction—not proof that every TPE doll is heavier than every silicone doll.
TPE lightweight options have also existed. A 2022 RosemaryDoll industry report announced weight-reduction options for selected WM and Starpery TPE products. That report establishes that the category exists; it does not define every current TPE body. (RosemaryDoll report)
When a lightweight option is available, request the standard and lightweight weight for the same body, head and feature set. A maximum advertised percentage cannot replace that matched comparison.

What Current Retail Data Can—and Cannot—Show
Lucidtoys states that its full-body range on September 10, 2026 contained weight records for 1,677 TPE dolls, 212 hybrid dolls and 56 silicone dolls.
| Catalog group | Recorded products | Median net weight | Published range |
|---|---|---|---|
| TPE | 1,677 | 36kg | 24–61kg |
| Hybrid | 212 | 36kg | 24–60.5kg |
| Silicone | 56 | 32kg | 25–40kg |
The retailer uses the same sample sizes, date and material categories across its TPE, hybrid and silicone guides. The figures were rechecked on September 27, 2026.
This snapshot shows that one retailer’s silicone range can have a lower median weight than its TPE range. It does not show that silicone material is lighter under controlled conditions. The sample sizes differ sharply, and the bodies, brands, dimensions, cores and options are not matched.
Catalog statistics can change with inventory and product data. Treat these figures as a dated market observation and recheck the source before quoting them later.
06 / CONTROL THE VARIABLES
How to Compare TPE and Silicone Doll Weight Fairly
The strongest available comparison uses the same body mold offered in both materials. Confirm the following before treating a difference as evidence about material.
- Same body mold, height and measurements
- Same head model and the same included/excluded head rule
- Same skeleton, joints and standing configuration
- Same gel, soft-fill, oral and electronic options
- Standard-to-standard or lightweight-to-lightweight construction
- Net product weight compared with net product weight
| Comparison | Suitable for a material conclusion? | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Same body and matched configuration; only material changes | Most useful available comparison | Major construction variables are controlled |
| Same brand and similar dimensions, but different bodies | Limited | Shape and material volume still differ |
| Different brands and heights | No | Several variables change at once |
| Standard TPE vs lightweight silicone | No | Material and core construction both change |
| Body-only TPE vs silicone including a head | No | The numbers describe different assemblies |
| Retail catalog medians | No | The product mix is not a controlled sample |
07 / PURCHASE DECISION
Which Material Should You Choose When Weight Is the Priority?
- Shortlist models that meet your appearance, feel and care requirements.
- Record the final net weight of each exact configuration.
- Confirm whether the selected head and options are included.
- Compare body dimensions and weight distribution.
- Plan the route between storage, use and cleaning areas.
Either material can remain in the shortlist. A compact TPE model may fit. A foam-core or lightweight silicone model may also fit. The decision depends on verified model data.
Weight does not fully describe handling. A flexible full-body doll has no suitcase-style handle, and its center of mass changes as limbs move. 08 / VERIFY BEFORE ORDERING
Questions to Ask the Seller
Send the exact product link and every selected option. A useful request is:
I am comparing the handling weight of this TPE/silicone model. Please confirm the estimated net weight of my exact configuration, including the selected head, skeleton, standing option, gel or soft-fill areas and electronic modules. Please also confirm whether the number is for the standard or lightweight body and whether it excludes packaging.
Ask the seller to identify the following fields separately:
- body-only or complete weight;
- selected head and whether it is included;
- standard or lightweight construction;
- skeleton and standing option;
- gel or soft-fill configuration;
- electronic modules;
- estimated net product weight;
- packed weight and carton dimensions if delivery planning is also required.
Keep the response with the order record. If a later page or shipping label shows another number, the written configuration makes it easier to determine whether both figures describe the same product.
09 / FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is silicone denser than TPE?
Some industry guides describe silicone as denser than TPE while also acknowledging that a foam core can make a finished silicone product lighter. Commercial formulations and the material volume used in each doll vary, so use the exact finished-product weight for purchasing decisions. (Lushdoll comparison)
Why can a silicone sex doll weigh less than a TPE doll?
Possible reasons include a larger foam core, less exterior material, a slimmer body, a lighter head or another lightweight design. Irontech identifies foam-core construction as the reason its discussed silicone products can be lighter than its TPE products. That explanation applies to Irontech’s stated construction. (Irontech source)
Does a TPE doll always use a solid body?
No universal construction rule follows from the material name. Lightweight TPE options have existed for selected brands. Ask how the chosen model is built and request matched standard and lightweight weights when both are offered.
Does the skeleton weigh more in a silicone doll?
Not automatically. Skeleton design depends on the model, joint system and supported functions. Confirm the exact skeleton rather than deriving it from the exterior material.
Do gel breasts or a soft butt add weight?
They can. Irontech lists gel-filled parts among the features that make its products heavier. The change is not standardized, so request the final weight with the selected filling options.
Does a standing option make a doll heavier?
It may change the feet or skeleton components, but there is no reliable cross-brand increment. Ask whether the published net weight includes the standing option.
Are lightweight silicone dolls always easier to handle?
A lower verified net weight normally reduces part of the lifting demand, but size, balance, flexible limbs, storage height and the route through the home still matter.
Should I choose TPE or silicone if weight is my main concern?
Compare final configured weights first. Then use feel, care requirements, visual detail and budget to decide among the models you can handle.
