How to Clean
a Sex DollA step-by-step cleaning
and drying guide.

Clean gently. Rinse thoroughly. Dry every area.
A practical routine for your doll’s materials, internal structure, and delicate features.

TPE & siliconeFixed & removableBrand-specific notes

To clean a sex doll, first identify its materials and check the care instructions for its specific features. Gently clean areas exposed to lubricant or body fluids using a compatible cleanser, remove all cleaning residue, and dry both the exterior and internal channels before storage.

A silicone head may be paired with a TPE body. A removable insert needs a different routine from a fixed channel. Painted skin, implanted hair, and electronic features also need particular attention. This guide explains the process and where your model’s instructions should determine the method.

01 / CARE GUIDE

Know your material.
Check your features.

Start with the order specifications for both the head and the body.

Check the head and body separately

Do not identify material by touch alone. Softness varies between formulations, and a product described as having a “silicone head” may have a TPE body.

ConfigurationWhat to confirm before cleaning
TPE head + TPE bodyApproved cleansers, surface treatments, and makeup restrictions.
Silicone head + silicone bodyPainted details, hair attachments, and compatible care products.
Silicone head + TPE bodySeparate requirements for the head, body, and connection area.

For example, Jiusheng lists full silicone, full TPE, and hybrid configurations separately. Jiusheng’s material configurations ↗

Identify features that change the method

A

Internal structure

Check for fixed channels, a removable insert, and a functional or closed sculpted mouth.

B

Surface details

Identify painted veins, body makeup, special finishes, a removable wig, or implanted hair.

C

Electronic features

Locate heating, sound, vibration, charging ports, and other openings that may require water protection.

02 / CARE GUIDE

How often should you
clean a sex doll?

Cleaning contact areas after use and washing the entire body are different tasks.

SituationRecommended approach
Before first useInspect the doll and follow its initial-cleaning instructions, including any removable insert.
After usePromptly clean areas exposed to body fluids or lubricant, then complete drying.
Routine ownershipInspect the exterior and clean dust, residue, or visible dirt as needed. Follow the model’s full-body care schedule.
After extended storageCheck for moisture, unusual odor, staining, and surface changes before use.

SY Doll’s care article emphasizes cleaning after use and consulting the supplied instructions. It does not establish one full-body interval for every configuration. SY Doll’s care guidance ↗

03 / CARE GUIDE

Prepare the right
cleaning supplies.

Choose products by compatibility with your doll’s material, finish, and cleaning area.

Get everything ready before moving the doll

Keep clean water, soft towels, and the approved tools within reach so you can keep the body supported throughout cleaning.

A product labeled “sex toy cleaner” is not automatically suitable for every TPE formulation, silicone finish, adhesive, or painted area. Follow the approved cleaner’s dilution and rinsing instructions; do not invent a stronger mixture.

Are powder, oil, and stain remover essential?

Care powder may be recommended for particular external surfaces. Conditioning oil belongs only in routines where the manufacturer specifies it. Stain remover treats certain discoloration problems, while makeup remover can intentionally remove cosmetic details.

For example, Irontech’s TPE cleansing oil has an explicit makeup-removal function. Do not treat it as a routine facial cleanser when you want to preserve the original makeup. Irontech’s TPE cleansing oil instructions ↗

04 / CARE GUIDE

How to clean the
outside of a sex doll.

Work in manageable sections, protect sensitive parts, and finish by removing all cleanser.

  1. Set up a stable cleaning area

Rest the doll securely on a clean, padded surface. Keep fresh towels and rinse water close by. If moving into a bathtub is difficult, check whether the manual permits cleaning in place with a damp cloth. Plan how to collect water before flushing channels.

  2. Remove clothing and loose accessories

Remove jewelry and clothing that could scratch, become wet, or transfer color. Take off a removable wig if it interferes with cleaning. Only detach components designed to be removed.

  3. Protect sensitive areas

Locate the neck connection and electronic parts. Follow the model’s instructions for keeping these areas dry. Do not assume a silicone exterior means the finished product is waterproof.

  4. Clean gently

Apply the approved cleaning solution with a soft cloth or sponge using light pressure. Avoid stretching the surface, using fingernails in folds, or repeatedly scrubbing a mark that is not lifting.

  5. Remove the cleanser

Use clean water and a fresh cloth, or the rinsing method allowed by the manual. Pay attention to folds and places where cleaning solution collects.

  6. Blot away surface water

Gently pat with a soft towel, then continue with the external and internal drying checks.

Stella Dolls’ surface-care guide describes gentle washing, towel patting, and complete air-drying before storage. Stella Dolls’ maintenance guide ↗

05 / CARE GUIDE

How to clean
internal channels.

Choose the workflow that matches your doll. Not every model has the same openings or internal shape.

FIXED CHANNELS

Clean in place

  1. Prepare the approved cleaning solution.
  2. Position the doll securely so liquid drains as directed.
  3. Use a compatible irrigator to introduce solution gently.
  4. Rinse with clean water to remove loosened residue and cleanser.
  5. Drain excess water and begin internal drying.

Do not force the nozzle deeper if the opening feels tight.

REMOVABLE INSERTS

Wash separately

  1. Remove the insert using its fitting instructions.
  2. Wash the accessible interior and exterior.
  3. Rinse the cleaning product away thoroughly.
  4. Inspect and dry the installation space as well.
  5. Refit only after the insert and surrounding space are dry.

Do not turn it inside out unless its manufacturer allows it.

For example, Dolls Castle specifies mild soap solution in its included cleaning device, followed by clean-water rinsing. Dolls Castle’s official care guide ↗

Galatea instructs owners to wash detachable inserts separately and reinstall only after complete drying. Galatea’s official care guide ↗

Cleaning the mouth

Confirm that the head has a functional oral channel and that flushing is permitted. A closed sculpted mouth does not need internal flushing. Protect the eyes, eyelashes, hair attachments, connectors, and electronics. Follow the head’s drainage instructions so water does not enter areas intended to remain dry.

06 / CARE GUIDE

Dry inside and out.
Then store.

A dry exterior does not establish that an internal channel is dry.

01

Exterior

Pat away water, inspect folds and areas resting on towels, and replace wet towels. Follow the recommended ventilation and positioning; do not improvise with direct heat.

02

Fixed channels

Drain and remove moisture using the approved method. Choose a tool that fits the channel. Follow placement-time instructions, remove it when directed, and clean reusable tools.

03

Removable inserts

Keep the insert separate until dry inside and out. Its installation space must also be dry before refitting. The outer surface alone is not a sufficient check.

For example, Galatea describes absorbing excess moisture with a drying stick followed by natural air-drying in a ventilated area. The guide does not establish a universal drying time. Galatea’s official care guide ↗

Before you store the doll

  • No visible water remains on the exterior or in folds.
  • Internal areas have completed the model’s drying procedure.
  • The insert and installation space are dry.
  • Cleaning and drying tools have been removed.
  • Clothing, towels, and storage materials are dry.

Use a storage position allowed for the body and skeleton. Avoid prolonged pressure, direct sunlight, and fabrics likely to transfer color.

07 / CARE GUIDE

Care for the details
that make yours different.

Faces, hair, mixed materials, and electronic features need their own instructions.

A

Makeup & painted details

A cleaner suitable for unpainted skin may not preserve cosmetic finishes. Avoid repeated rubbing around eyebrows, lips, eyelashes, and body detailing. If color transfers to the cloth, stop and ask the seller how to proceed.

B

Wigs & implanted hair

Clean a removable wig separately using products suitable for its fiber type. Rinse and dry as instructed. Implanted hair needs its own method; do not soak an entire head using a removable-wig routine.

C

Electronic features

Follow shutdown, disconnection, and water-protection instructions. Confirm which parts are removable and which surfaces may be washed. Obtain model-specific cleaning information before wetting an unclear area.

D

Powder & oil

Use only the treatment specified for your model, after cleaning and drying. Do not assume all TPE or silicone products need the same routine, or put powder inside channels unless your exact manual calls for it.

IRONTECH · HYBRID CONNECTION CARE

Check where the silicone head meets the TPE body

Irontech’s official hybrid guide notes that prolonged contact may increase oiliness in TPE around the neck. It recommends inspecting this area and detaching the head for cleaning when increased oiliness appears. The guide also discusses separate head-and-body storage.

Apply this guidance to the relevant Irontech configuration. Confirm another brand’s connection and storage requirements before assuming the same routine applies. Irontech’s hybrid-care guide ↗

WM’s TPE guide recommends supplied powder or cornstarch after drying; Stella’s guide excludes oil-based cleaning agents. These are separate product instructions, not one universal routine. WM’s TPE care instructions ↗ · Stella Dolls’ maintenance guide ↗

08 / CARE GUIDE

What to avoid
during cleaning.

Keep specialist repair products separate from your routine cleaning supplies.

AvoidUse this approach instead
Choosing a chemical only because it says “toy cleaner”Verify compatibility with the material, finish, and cleaning area.
Hard brushes, sharp objects, and forceful scrubbingUse approved soft tools with light pressure.
Immersing the whole doll without checking its constructionConfirm water limits for the head, connectors, and electronic parts.
Forcing an insert inside out or pushing a tool into resistanceFollow the component’s shape and fitting instructions.
A household hair dryer or unapproved heat sourceUse the manufacturer’s drying method.
Treating a stain with increasingly strong cleanersIdentify the stain and confirm an approved treatment.
Storing while internal areas are dampComplete drying before dressing, refitting inserts, or enclosing the doll.

Adhesives, makeup removers, stain treatments, and everyday cleansers have different purposes. Do not substitute one for another.

09 / CARE GUIDE

Still smells, feels sticky,
or has a stain?

Start with when the change appeared and what happened before it. Another full wash is not always the answer.

What you noticeWhat to checkNext step
Odor immediately after unboxingPackaging history and the manufacturer’s description of material odor.Follow ventilation instructions. An expected material odor may dissipate with airing; washing removes contamination and may not eliminate that odor.
New or persistent odor after use or storageResidue, retained moisture, and accompanying discoloration.Review cleaning and drying. Contact the seller if the cause is unclear or the odor persists.
Sticky or oily skinCleanser residue, recent care products, heat exposure, and normal model-specific surface behavior.Use the approved surface-care routine rather than automatically adding oil or powder.
Clothing stainsDyed-fabric contact and whether the mark is dirt or transferred dye.Use only approved stain treatment. Avoid aggressive scrubbing.
Suspected mold or dark spots insideLocation, moisture history, and whether the insert is replaceable.Pause use and ask the manufacturer about assessment and replacement options.
Makeup loss, peeling, or a tearProducts used, rubbing, stretching, or pressure.Stop repeating the treatment and request model-specific repair advice.

For suspected mold, removing a visible mark does not establish that the part is suitable for use again. Tantaly’s guide advises stopping use when mold is found in a channel. Tantaly’s mold guidance ↗

When contacting support, provide the model, materials, affected location, products already applied, and when the change first appeared.

10 / CARE GUIDE

Your cleaning
questions, answered.

Eight quick answers, with direct links to the relevant instructions.

01Do I need to clean my sex doll before first use?

Inspect it and follow the manufacturer’s initial-cleaning instructions. Check removable inserts and any packaging or manufacturing residue while protecting components that should remain dry.

See first-use care
02Do I have to wash the entire doll after every use?

Clean areas exposed to body fluids or lubricant after use. Whether the entire body needs washing depends on contamination and your model’s care instructions.

See cleaning frequency
03Can I use regular soap or a sex toy cleaner?

Only if it is compatible with the material, finish, and area being cleaned. Follow the approved product’s dilution and rinsing instructions.

Check compatible supplies
04Can I put my sex doll in a bathtub or shower?

Only where the manufacturer permits it and you can position the doll securely. Check the head, neck connection, and electronic features before allowing water near them.

See body-cleaning precautions
05Can I use a hair dryer to dry the inside?

Do not substitute a household hair dryer for approved drying equipment. If the manufacturer permits a dedicated device, follow its specific instructions.

See internal drying methods
06Does my doll need powder or oil after cleaning?

That depends on the model and finish. Some products call for light care powder; others have different requirements. Do not assume every TPE doll needs oil or every silicone doll uses the same powder.

Read aftercare guidance
07Are removable inserts easier to clean?

They can make cleaning and inspection more convenient because they are washed separately. They still need complete internal drying, careful handling, and a dry installation space.

See removable-insert cleaning
08What should I do if I do not know my doll’s material?

Check the order specifications for both the head and body. If they are missing or contradictory, ask the seller to confirm the configuration before selecting products.
